Set along the lush green corridor of Kottawa Forest, where sunlight
filters through towering trees and a lone bus moves quietly through
nature, UNEA embodies the urgency and interconnectedness of
environmental action. Since its formation in 2012, UNEA has led global
governance on climate resilience, biodiversity protection, pollution
reduction, and sustainable ecosystems.
UNEA was selected for
SDIMUN because environmental stewardship begins with the landscapes we
call home. The forests and coastlines of Sri Lanka remind us that
ecological crises are both local and global — and the solutions must be
too.
Delegates must be scientifically informed,
environmentally conscious, and ethically driven. This is where
innovation meets responsibility, and the world expects nothing less.
